What is your role at The Wholesale Group?
To be an ambassador for the own brand range within the business, assist in coordinating group events and general marketing support for the team.
What did you do before joining The Wholesale Group?
I worked at Fairway Fooservice for a number of years as the Marketing & Events manager. Before that, I worked in field sales and filmed weddings.
What do you do when you’re not working?
I like to play darts with my son, I also go watch Bradford City. Me and my partner like to go out for food. I call it ‘research’ for my job…
If you were able to retire tomorrow, how would you spend your time?
Travelling, on a beach, relaxing etc, its a dream but also a cliche. The reality is pottering around B&Q looking for stuff to upgrade the house and garden. I wouldn’t mind running a bar in my twilight years.
Who inspires you?
My partner Lisa inspires me, due to her caring nature, willingness to help others and how she fights through every challenge life throws at her. I have become a stronger, more resolute person in the 8 years I have known her. In the wider world, I wouldn’t say they inspire me but I have a lot of admiration for Michael Schumacher, Muhammad Ali and Queen Elizabeth II.
What type of business would you go into if it wasn’t wholesale?
Ive often thought about hospitality, running a venue and maximising return would be something I could enjoy. I would be interested in dipping my toe into charity work, do a good deed and change the world for someone. If I could go back 30 years I would study Finance.
What is the most interesting place you have visited and why?
Berlin - a fascinating City with a rich history. There is lots to do, see and learn. I’ve also visited the Titanic museum in Belfast, what an experience that was.
What do you like about working at The Wholesale Group?
It’s a very experienced team, with strengths in all areas so opportunities to learn from others. Everybody is approachable and there is a real sense of ‘team work’.
