What is your role at The Wholesale Group?
In my role as Technical Manager I have the technical accountability across the whole of our product range with regard to food safety, quality control and legal requirements. The other key area is sustainability and leading members on the journey to Net Zero by 2040.
What did you do before joining The Wholesale Group?
Prior to joining The Wholesale Group, I spent 14 years at Fairway Foodservice in a similar role looking after own brand.
What do you do when you’re not working?
Keeping active, gym, swimming and bike riding. For the mind I enjoy a good read, with physics being the main subject, the real world is more fascinating than any sci-fi.
If you were able to retire tomorrow, how would you spend your time?
Buy a plot of land and grow my own vegetables and keep livestock. Also buy a tractor!
Who inspires you?
There are many scientists on my list – Brian Greene, Sean Carroll, Stephen Hawking, Brian Cox, Carlo Rovelli, Carl Sagan, to name a few.
What type of business would you go into if it wasn’t wholesale?
Farming or running a pub or bistro.
What is the most interesting place you have visited and why?
Not a place I have visited yet but the top of the list is NASA Space Centre in Florida – for the history of space exploration and future.

The people, the head office team is great. Also, being part of the membership community to support, learn and grow together.
