What is your role at The Wholesale Group?
Digital Marketing Executive (Apprentice)
What did you do before joining The Wholesale Group?
I worked at a VW Transformer specialist warehouse packing car parts for delivery, but before that I studied English and Film Studies at college.
What do you do when you’re not working?
I spend a lot of time doing creative hobbies. I've been self-publishing a web comic for little while now, which usually takes up a few hours per week. I draw all the artwork myself and write the story. When I'm not working on that, I'm usually drawing other things. I have created countless characters over the course of my life, each with a backstory and narrative surrounding them. I don't publish any of that, though. It's purely for fun! I also craft costumes and props of characters that I love, which requires a very unique set of skills that I've been building up since I was 13. Outside of those very time-consuming hobbies, I spend time with my family and friends and play video games a few times a week with some of my longer distance friends.
If you were able to retire tomorrow, how would you spend your time?
I left education too recently to even think about retiring! If I had no choice I'd dedicate my time to my hobbies. I have so many projects that I just don't have time for. If I got bored, I'd try my hand at selling a screenplay.
Who inspires you?
My best friend. I've known her since we were kids, and I watched her grow into the kindest, most passionate person I have ever met. She's so talented in so many ways and she isn't afraid to make changes to anything she isn't happy with.
What type of business would you go into if it wasn’t wholesale?
Definitely screenwriting. It's always been a dream career for me, it's just incredibly difficult to get into, and finding success in it is even harder. If I could guarantee I'd be able to break into it, I would want to do that.
What is the most interesting place you have visited and why?
I don't travel a lot, but I love going to concerts. In 2023 I went to Dublin to see Rammstein, and that concert was like nothing I have ever seen before. The pyrotechnics were absolutely unbelievable. Flamethrowers attached to guitars, a giant pram that ignites into flames, and even a giant cooking pot with the keyboardist inside that’s smothered in flames from the flamethrower-wielding lead singer. By far the most memorable show I have ever been to - and I was close enough to feel the heat of the flames! Twenty One Pilots would be a close second, though.
What do you like about working at The Wholesale Group?
The people! Every single person here is so kind, welcoming, and supportive. If anyone needs help with anything everyone is quick to lend a hand, it is such a lovely environment. By far the most wonderful group of people I have ever been surrounded with.
