The Wholesale Group has expanded its own-brand portfolio with the launch of a new CHEF Approved and CHEF Prestige coffee range, offering foodservice operators a complete, structured solution for hot and cold coffee service across every daypart.
Developed for professional kitchens and high-volume hospitality environments, the range has been designed to deliver consistent quality, clear flavour profiles and dependable performance, whether operators are serving espresso-based drinks, milk-led coffees, iced formats or filter coffee.
Coffee remains one of the most commercially resilient categories in foodservice, with operators increasingly expected to deliver café-quality drinks alongside speed, consistency and cost control. The new CHEF Approved and CHEF Prestige range responds to this demand by combining versatile core blends with premium, certified and decaffeinated options — allowing caterers to meet a wide range of customer preferences without over-complicating menus.
A complete coffee range for modern foodservice
The range spans five core products, each developed with a specific usage and outlet type in mind:
- CHEF Approved Barista Coffee Beans (6 x 1kg) – A balanced 50% Arabica / 50% Robusta “price-fighter” blend, designed to deliver excellent value without compromising on taste. Low in acidity and comforting in style, the flavour profile features strong bass notes, dark cocoa and hazelnut, with mild dried fruit in the background. Ideal for high-volume operations where consistency matters, each 1kg pack yields approximately 62–71 double espresso servings, based on a 14–16g dose.
- CHEF Prestige Espresso Beans (6 x 1kg) – An 80% Arabica / 20% Robusta blend developed for versatility across the hospitality sector. Heavy-bodied with dark chocolate sweetness, toffee and roasted peanut notes, the coffee holds its character in milk-based drinks and delivers a long, satisfying finish. Suitable for high-street quality service, with approximately 62–71 double espresso servings per 1kg.
- CHEF Prestige 100% Premium Arabica Coffee Beans – Rainforest Alliance Certified (6 x 1kg) – A premium 100% Arabica option aimed at higher-end coffee shops and operators whose customers value sustainability credentials. Full-bodied with milk chocolate sweetness, toasted nut character and stone fruit notes, this blend offers a more refined flavour profile alongside recognised ethical sourcing. Each 1kg pack delivers approximately 62–71 double espresso servings.
- CHEF Prestige 100% Premium Arabica Beans DECAF (10 x 500g) – Decaffeinated without compromise, these 100% Arabica decaf beans deliver a silky, smooth body with blonde caramel sweetness and a clean finish. Designed to match regular coffee standards, each 500g pack yields approximately 31–35 double espresso servings, supporting growing demand for quality caffeine-free options.
- CHEF Prestige 100% Premium Arabica Filter Coffee – Rainforest Alliance Certified (1 x 60 x 60g)- A high-quality 100% Arabica ground coffee for filter brewing. Medium-bodied with a smooth mouthfeel, rich cocoa sweetness and mild fruity acidity, finishing clean and moreish. Supplied in pre-portioned 60g sachets, the format ensures consistency and ease of preparation, making it ideal for breakfast service and all-day coffee offerings.
Designed for consistency, yield and sustainability
Across the beans range, yield and portion control have been carefully considered, with espresso usage based on 14–16g per double shot, helping operators manage cost-in-cup while maintaining flavour consistency.
Selected CHEF Prestige lines – including the 100% Premium Arabica Coffee Beans and Filter Coffee – carry Rainforest Alliance certification, allowing The Wholesale Group to display the recognisable green frog seal on pack. The certification supports healthy forests, better farmer livelihoods, human rights, good environmental practices and climate resilience, providing a clear sustainability cue for customers.
Richard Ellison, Own Brand Manager at The Wholesale Group, said: “Great coffee starts with the right beans, but it also has to work in real foodservice environments. When developing the CHEF Approved and CHEF Prestige ranges, our focus was on consistency, yield and flavour – making sure operators can serve coffee they’re proud of, whether that’s a value-driven barista blend, a premium certified Arabica, or a quality decaf. By offering a complete, clearly structured range, we’re helping caterers meet customer expectations while keeping service simple and commercially sound.”
All products should be stored in an airtight container once opened and used within two weeks for best freshness, kept in a cool, dark place away from sunlight and moisture.
